The goal of the BPW is to initiate and support start-ups in the capital region. Numerous well-known companies and institutions have come together to form a unique network to support start-ups.
Participation in BPW, including all services offered (e.g. events, consulting), is free of charge. Only the printed version of the BPW Participants' Manual is subject to a nominal fee of €5 including VAT.
All competition entries submitted in time and in full for a stage/cycle will be evaluated in writing by jurors. These are experts from commercial and development banks, venture capitalists, management consultancies and law firms. They and all persons who come into contact with your business concept have undertaken to treat all information that becomes available to them in the course of the competition as confidential. These confidentiality agreements are renewed annually.
Within the framework of the BPW, the data you provide on the competition and participant questionnaire will be collected and processed (cf. sections 6 and 13 of the Berlin Data Protection Act and sections 4 and 16 of the Brandenburg Data Protection Act). They are required primarily for the organisation of the competition, for the evaluation of the business concepts and for internal statistical evaluations.
The data collected on the competition and participant questionnaire (not the business concepts themselves!) can be forwarded to our premium partners (who are shown with their logo on the BPW documents) for selected actions. These are special promotions and offers that we believe contain added value for you. The forwarding of data from participants with a university connection to the corresponding university takes place exclusively for statistical purposes and for offers on university-internal opportunities for start-up support. If other participants (e.g. network partners, press, etc.) wish to contact you, we will ask for your consent in advance.
By participating in the BPW, you declare that you are acting with the consent of all persons involved in the planned start-up and are therefore authorized to submit the business concept. If there is any doubt about the agreement of all participants, we reserve the right to withdraw the entry from the competition.
After completion of the competition, the data provided on the competition questionnaire as well as the participant questionnaire may be used for the annual "founded companies" survey and for sending out the questionnaire for the creation of a founder story, as well as for evaluation purposes. If you do not agree with the use, a written revocation is required.
